Tennessee River and the Mountain Man

so i have in mind what my birthday gift will be, and no, i'm not telling yet (there are certain people who may or not read this post so i have to keep a secret). we're also going home to knoxville this weekend so i think we're going to check out Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg this weekend...maybe even throw in a trip to Dollywood no matter if our eyes tear-up and freeze when we ride the Tennessee Tornado. :)

i do love this time of year, the weather is slowly getting cooler, yet you can still sport a short-sleeve shirt and not icify yourself when you're outside.(pronouned: ICE-UH-FI...yeah, that's a new word i just made up) just being outdoors this time of year is amazing, but especially the east tennessee mountains! how blessed are we to have some of the most beautiful scenery and countryside just a short drive away! or some of us might even be living in a Bob Ross painting with all those 'happy little trees' and 'bandite brown' rooftops spread across the view from our front porch.

i want to encourage you to get outside this weekend! sure, there may be some drizzling rain here and there, or it may seem a bit nippy in certain places, but really take time this weekend to appreciate the TN Valley! i know i will as i drive through the foothills of the Smoky Mountains this weekend. maybe i'll even get to stop at a temporary roadside waterfall, i love those things!
