As I sit here in the office this rainy Friday afternoon, I am
thinking about the three kids God has blessed me and Amy with.
Lauren, a senior is making plans for college. As a
dad, I am going to miss her as she goes off to school, but I am so
thankful for the young lady she is becoming. She is
proud of her faith and I know will have little problem standing up
for what is right.
Trevor, a junior, is working hard and setting a good example as a
Christian young man. The principal at Heritage Hight
School, (where my two oldest attend), was bragging on Trevor the
other day. It seems Trevor is one of a couple students
that are taking care of the morning announcements.
(Wonder where he gets that from?) Trevor has his sites
on a career with the secret service. He recently was
allowed to "train" with a local SWAT team and was invited to come
and spend some time with Sheriff Tim Goble, (who served in the
secret service for a number of years and protected three
Presidents.)
Chipper, an 8th grader, is........Chipper! He makes us
smile and roll our eyes all the time. He is working
hard in school and, (even though has struggled in some of his
classes), is making all A's and B's.
Two days after Christmas I am taking the boys on a ski retreat with
the student ministry of Burning Bush Baptist in
Ringgold. This will be Chippers first time skiing, and
I am looking forward to teaching him and spending time with my two
sons.
Lauren is going to have some "special" time with Amy.
As this year comes to a close, and the season is really hectic,
stop and thank God for those blessings in your life.
I am also thankful for my wife Amy's pecan tarts, white
trash/chocolote chex mix, and chocolate covered peanut butter
balls, but dont' tell anyone!
