Three Movies, Three Morals

in the past month i've seen more movies at the theater than i think i did all of last fall/winter of '09. there's been some good stuff aaaannnd some not so good stuff, but the last three movies i saw were amazing if for nothing else than the moral they addressed. here's a list of the last three movies i saw and what i thought about them, as well as what message i pulled from them:

1) To Save a Life: a movie with a message i wish i had seen ten years ago. how often do we as people, especially we as Christians, judge those around us? from the man standing with a cardboard sign at the on ramp from I-75, to the woman driving down the road in her Mercedes with the sticker to her gated community on the bumper of her SUV and head held high...maybe slightly higher than we think it should be. people need to be loved, and we as Christians should be the biggest bunch of beatles-esque, love-hippies out there.

2) The Book of Eli: a movie for discerning adults indeed, but touches on such a profound truth. God's Word is beautiful and valuable! God's Word is filled with so much heavenly wisdom, and on top of that is quite poetic, that it is really something we should cherish and allow it's words to influence us daily.

3) When In Rome: i could write romantic comedies for a living. seriously! i'm not afraid to admit Failure To Launch is one of my favorite movies, or that i even liked Sweet Home Alabama, but i could have told you the entire plot to this movie 10 minutes into the thing. come on now...really.
