By now I'm sure you've heard the new song from Becky Kelly
called "Where's the line to see Jesus." It is an
amazing song, with an amazing behind-the-scenes story.
If you've missed the story, here it is. Becky, while shopping with
her little nephew in the mall....walked past the long lines to see
Santa. The boy stopped and looked at his aunt and
asked, "Where's the line to see Jesus?"
She was so touched by the innocent but wise question...she went
home and wrote a song. Becky isn't a singer, but she
felt strongly that the song needed to be heard. She created a demo
and began shopping the song in Nashville to see if someone would
pick it up and record it. Three years
later, still no takers. Undaunted, she recorded the song and video
and it has become an "overnight sensation" on the
web.
I checked with the Christian bookstores and just as I suspected,
the song is not yet released. So keep listening because we will be
playing it here on J103.
So, what about the question in the song? Don't get me
wrong, Santa and toys is something that has always been a part of
our Christmas. There is such joy in seeing the eyes of a child
awakened to surprises under the tree on Chrstimas
morning. But, I hope this year and every
year, that you take the time to make sure your children understand
what Christmas is REALLY ALL ABOUT.
GOD sent his ONLY son to earth just for us. He came in
the most humble and unexpected way. Born in a stable
surrounded by a bunch of animals? A Baby that would
save the world? How could it be? Yet it was....
Keep Christ in your Christmas this year....and make sure there is a
line to see Him in your life.
