Resurrection Weekend

I love Easter Weekend. The times I have been on staff at various churches have been highlights of my life. Maundy Thursday suppers, Good Friday services and dramas, Sunrise services and Easter pageants have all helped point me to the core of the reason for Easter.

My parents made sure we had Easter Baskets, candy, new clothes (to this day I am traumatized with clip on ties and matching my brothers), and all of the family fun Easter traditions like dyeing, hiding and searching for easter eggs, but they always made sure the focal point was the Ressurrection of Jesus Christ.

My prayer is that your family has a ball this weekend! but that you always remember that it was Jesus' death on the cross and God's resurrection of His Son that changed the world for all eternity.

Do you know Him? Do you know why we celebrate this weekend? I hope and pray you do. If not-look to the cross......and to the empty tomb.
