With a family of five, our washing machine and dryer stays busy almost every day. My wife, Amy, takes it upon herself to make sure all of the laundry is done.
You can imagine, (or maybe you have experienced) what it is like when the dryer goes out. You have a couple of options-hang everything out on the back deck and pray for warm sunny weather, (like our grandparents used to do), or pack the clothes up and head to the inlaws to borrow their dryer. Either way-it put a major damper on the laundry at our house recently.
Thank God for good neighbors. One of our neighbors down the street works on dryers/washing machines in his spare time. He even buys damaged ones, fixes them up and resells them. (We have one of his washers we bought several years ago-runs like new!)
"Chris" came down and checked out our dryer the other night-and sent us to a parts store to get a new fuse. We got it, and he then found that our heating element was broke, he patched it, changed the fuse and got us up and running again.
When I tried to pay him for his time and expertise, he refused, so I snuck it in his tool bag. He found it and said, "Ted, I'm not charging you." I said, "I know you are not charging me, you are blessing me and I want to bless you." He left our house with cash, and we now have dry clothes!
He could use the cash and we needed an affordable fix to our dryer. Those are the blessings orchaestrated from Heaven.
