so i recently wrote about Jackie Mitchell, the young 17 yr old that struck out Babe Ruth and played for the Lookouts and this Monday night we'll be having Faith and Family Night at the Chattanooga Lookouts, so i figured why not TALK MORE about the Lookouts! :) seriously though, the ultimate frisbee team i was coaching practiced down near Engel Stadium and it's been pretty cool to see them working on restoring it for the new Jackie Robinson movie. i actually was able to see a couple games there before they let it run down. we would check out the fireworks after the game from the train tracks right next to the field. me and my brother would roam up and down the tracks picking up little bits of metal that fell off the trains and collect them in piles. i even once was able to walk around the bases of Engel when my 9 yr old all-star team made it to the Dizzy Dean championships. it's amazing how much has changed in Chattanooga with whole downtown and riverfront area, but it's good to know we still have baseball!
