I have been diagnosed by dozens of J103 listeners as having plantar flasciitis. After internet research I have learned that plantar fasciitis is an acute form of inflammation of the band of tissue running across the bottom of your foot. Every time you flex your foot, those tendons, ligaments, and tissue move and when they are inflamed, every movement hurts.
Mine appears to be isolated to my heel. In the mornings or after sitting still for a short period of time-it aches and throbs when I stand to walk on it.
After standing for long periods of time it begins to throb and hurt. It is not a stabbing pain-just an irritating throb.
It is reported to affect two million Americans in a year and 10% of the U.S. population over a lifetime.
Have you suffered through it? How did you treat it?
I am trying to stretch it every chance I can, and believe it or not-trying to not over-exert it. (You would not believe how difficult this is for me to do-to try to stay off of it!)
Please pray for me that God heals me quickly.
