Married and She's Sick

woo hoo! back from my honeymoon and vacation and loving being married. it was a beautiful wedding and despite the 104 temperature we kept things cool from the ceremony to the reception. we couldn't really have asked for a better time, and other than not getting to make my way to the ice cream sundae bar nothing went wrong!

we then spent 10 days in the dominican republic thanks to Becca's parents securing a place for us and loved the country. we went ziplining, horseback riding, rode dune buggies and jumped off waterfalls! we of course stayed indoors a bit too, but duh, it was our honeymoon. it was a beautiful country though (they filmed Jurassic Park there!) and it was amazing how you could drive from beatiful beaches and resorts to fairly extreme poverty in a couple of minutes. we saw beautiful restaraunts on the beach one place and an actual cock-fighting ring with bleachers and ticket takers not too far away. it was definitely interesting seeing these two extremes and definitely gave us thought on our blessings and a lesson on contentment (a good lesson for a radio DJ and a school teacher).

we pulled back into Chattanooga around 4am this past Thursday and crashed for a while (had to go get some fried chicken and sweet tea though) but Becca started getting some pains in her stomach Thursday and Friday. of course, we were already thinking she's pregnant which is not yet what we're really trying for, but after a weekend of cold sweats, high temperatures and unpleasant activities, we spend 6 hours in the Emergency Room to find out she had got a bacterial infection while we had been in the Dominican!

we knew we said "in sickness and in health", we just thought it would be a while before we had to put that into practice! that said, after a lot of fluids and some prescriptions, she's doing better but please keep Becca in your prayers. sickness is never fun, but i know it's driving her crazy on top of all of the sickness to know we still have thank you cards to write, a house to organize and a brother's wedding this weekend!

haha, life goes on after a wedding and honeymoon doesn't it! i look forward to sharing some wedding pictures though eventually when we get them in and thanks for all your prayers and for your continued prayers as well!
