For over 17 years my wife and I have braved all types of weather to watch our three kids run Cross Country, play Soccer, baseball/softball etc.
This afternoon will be the first race of our youngest son Chipper's last High School Cross Country Season. Also in the next couple of weeks our daughter Lauren will begin her last College Soccer season.
That means at the end of 2013 I will have none of my children currently involved in competitive sports. I wonder if I will go through withdrawals?
For all the multi-hour trips to select soccer tournaments, the hotel rooms, the gas, the meals, the league fees, the fundraisers, x-rays and medical bills-I wouldn't trade it for nothing.
Those times sitting on the cold or hot sidelines cheering on our kids while they "gave it their all" are going to be missed (after a while).
Oh well.....I'm still young....hope my grandkids will live near me!
