When Competition become Addiction

Fitbit is going to kill me!

Welcome to the World of Fitbit! For Valentines Day, my wife surprised me with a Fitbit-one of those devices that enable you to track the number of steps you walk in a day, the amount and quality of sleep you get each night, your heartrate, your calorie intake and how many you burn.

That would be a great healthy lifestyle tool........my problem????? Fitbit also allows you to keep up with how many steps your friends are logging in each week. It gives you the opportunity to "cheer" them or "taunt" them and even to send them messages.

In a weeks time I have passed all but one of my thirteen "friends/family" My brother Shawn! I know he has a career where he walks a lot, but I have a suspicion that he is cheating! Is he putting his fitbit in the dryer and letting it just spin and spin? How in the world does he put in that many steps in a week?

So, here I am-getting up even earlier, walking around the neighborhood, spending over an hour on the treadmill, logging in and out of the app on my phone keeping track of Shawn and my other family members......will I ever catch and pass him up? Are they gaining on me?

Competition has become Addictive!
