Multiple GRAMMY-nominated, Dove Award winning Sanctus Real lead vocalist Matt Hammitt released his first solo album, Every Falling Tear, this week amidst wide acclaim.  This week only, the lead track from the album, “All of Me,” is offered as a free download from iTunes® at http://bit.ly/kkqQrG.  The song was initially heard on ABC World News with Diane Sawyer – see the story at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WoeGKOXeO-s

This week also coincidentally marked the year anniversary of Matt Hammitt’s son Bowen’s first open heart surgery.  Bowen, “small victorious one,” was born with a severe congenital heart defect, Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, and has now gone through two heart surgeries, an infection and other complications since being born.

Bowen, who turned one last Friday, first heard his dad sing “All of Me” in concert at a sold out Sanctus Real event last month at Bowling Green State University’s new Stroh Center.  Matt will continue to sing the song with Sanctus Real on the major market tour with Casting Crowns that begins next week.

Organically sparked by the rich joy and pain of life over the last year that strengthened Hammitt’s faith and solidified his resolve to lead his family well, these new songs on Every Falling Tear are his most deeply personal to date.  Born out of the heart of a father, Hammitt's main impetus for writing the songs on Every Falling Tear was to play them at Bowen’s bedside in the hospital, with the hope that they would be a source of comfort for his family, as well as a reminder of God’s faithfulness in the midst of their uncertainty.  A link to a video of Hammitt reflecting on the journey to Every Falling Tear can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCl9DSgw-JI

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Every Falling Tear benefits a new non-profit Matt and Sarah Hammitt set up to help families going through similar challenges as themselves; providing assistance for families of children affected by congenital heart defects. The album can be purchased through iTunes (http://bit.ly/pdjJ8u), Amazon.com (http://amzn.to/pd1X6z) and other digital and physical retail stores.
