OK, so in the Gocke household, I have once again taken over the
bills. Amy has done them for the last 3-4 years and
with her going to work full-time she has run out of time to do them
along with keeping the house up and taking the lead role dealing
with the boys and their schedules.
For the last two weeks I have been sitting down, balancing the
checkbook with the days receipts, and budgeting how we are going to
pay all of the bills (with the added automotive repair
expense).
I kind of enjoy doing it-trusting God to meet our needs, and doing
our best to be good stewards of what He is providing.
But since I know the balance of the checkbook, I am not finding
myself telling the boys "no" more often. I am also
watching what we get at the grocery store a little more
closer. I am limiting the times we eat
out. All of these things Amy did (and well, I might
add), when she was the one in the checking account drivers
seat.
But now she says I am being crabby! I
guess that is a reminder from the Lord to keep my head up and keep
trusting in Him.
Speaking of that......God blessed my socks off this week by an
annoymous gift from one of our listeners towards our automotive
repairs. God is so good!
