Are we still rescuing a dog or has it already been rescued?

About a month ago, my wife (the compassionate one) rescued a dog in a parking lot. She brought it home, bathed it and has been trying to find it a good home. It is a sweet dog and needs a family with kids. The question I have now is.......Is she still trying to find it a home or.......has she already found it a home? Ours!

How do I know if the search is over? If it is......how many dogs does one have to have before you cross the line into "pet-hoarding?"
