This blog is not about Robin Williams

...it's about you.

Social media is blowing up with comments and tributes about Robin Williams. The most startling thing about his death is that a man with so much success, fame and fortune would choose to end his own life. But I'm not here to talk about that. Let's talk about you. Have you ever felt that way before? Do you feel that way now? I was reminded of an old song by Jon Gibson called "Friend In You", consider these lyrics: Life has got you down
And there is nothing anyone can do to turn it around
You wanted to be free
But all you got was misery
'Cause life don't love you when your holding on
or after you've let go
So what's it matter who you are or what you do
Baby I know you want to end it all
But please before you do

CHORUS
"My friend I know what you've gone through
But Jesus died for you
So keep in mind
That although your heart is blue
Let it break in two
Then you will find
A Friend that lives in you" An old friend said something very wise on Facebook yesterday. When you feel like ending it all, give it 24 hours. Things have a way of looking better the next day. But most importantly, reach out to someone for help. I invite you to call us here at J103 anytime. Call your pastor. Call a friend. Do something, but don't do something that can't be reversed. God loves you. He has a plan for your life, and it's a good plan. Even if you can't see it today.
